The application includes a YouTube inspired navigation sidebar, search section, video recommendation area, Shorts section, video cards, channel previews, captions, icons and embedded multimedia content. The project uses multiple sections to recreate the overall structure of a video streaming platform homepage while focusing on the fundamentals of webpage layout and content organization.
The project was developed using HTML5 for creating the webpage structure and embedding multimedia content, CSS3 for styling, positioning and layout, and Remix Icons for incorporating interface icons. GitHub Pages is used to host and display the project online.
Through this project, I gained practical experience in structuring larger HTML webpages, creating navigation layouts, embedding videos, organizing repeated content, styling cards and media sections, and working with spacing and positioning. I also practiced using external icon libraries and learned how different webpage sections can be combined to create a complete interface.
The main objective of this project was to strengthen my understanding of HTML and CSS fundamentals through the recreation of a familiar real world website interface. It provided hands on experience in building a multi section webpage while developing a better understanding of frontend layout and content organization.
