BODMAS Calculator

by Madhushree Rasal

HTML5 Tailwind CSS JavaScript
The BODMAS Calculator is a simple and interactive web based calculator developed to perform basic arithmetic calculations while following the BODMAS rule, which defines the correct order of mathematical operations.

The project is designed to make everyday calculations easier by allowing users to enter mathematical expressions and obtain results without manually calculating each operation. It supports addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, with multiplication and division being processed before addition and subtraction to maintain the correct order of operations.

The calculator also includes a backspace feature that allows users to remove the last entered character and modify their expressions conveniently. Its interface is designed to be simple, user friendly and responsive, providing an accessible experience across different screen sizes.

The project was developed using HTML5 for structuring the webpage, Tailwind CSS for styling and responsive design, and JavaScript for handling user inputs, manipulating the DOM, processing mathematical expressions and performing calculations.

Through this project, I gained practical experience in JavaScript functions, conditional statements, string manipulation, arrays, number conversion and implementing logical operations to solve mathematical expressions. It also helped me understand how to break down a problem into smaller steps and translate mathematical logic into functional JavaScript code.

This project implements a simplified version of the BODMAS rule and currently focuses on basic arithmetic operations without support for brackets or powers.

Overall, the BODMAS Calculator was developed as a practical learning project to strengthen my understanding of frontend web development and improve my problem solving and programming skills.
