1.1 Account Information
TypeClash uses Google OAuth for authentication. When you sign in using Google, we may collect:
- Your name
- Email address
- Google account identifier (used only for authentication)
Users may optionally update their email address within the platform. When an email change is requested, we verify ownership by sending a one-time verification code (OTP) to the new email address before updating the account.
We do not collect or store passwords.
1.2 Usage & Performance Data
For registered users, we store typing-related data, including:
- Words per minute (WPM)
- Accuracy
- Match history
- Rank and progression data
This data is used solely to provide platform functionality and improve user experience.
1.3 Customization Data
TypeClash allows users to personalize their experience. As part of this:
- Users may upload background images from their device
- Users may apply background images using external image links
- Visual preferences such as themes, overlays, blur settings, fonts, and sounds may be stored
Uploaded images and image links are used only to provide customization features and are not shared with third parties. Additionally, user-selected customization settings (such as font size, color, background image links, etc.) are stored locally in your browser's local storage for your convenience.
2. How We Use Information
Collected information is used to:
- Authenticate users and manage accounts
- Display typing statistics and rankings
- Maintain competitive integrity
- Improve platform performance and usability
- Detect abuse or unfair behavior
We do not sell or rent user data to third parties.

TypeClash currently uses:

Google's use of information is governed by their own privacy policy. TypeClash only accesses the minimum data required for login functionality.

User-uploaded images and customization data are handled using standard security practices and are not processed beyond their intended display purpose.

TypeClash is intended for a general audience. It is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
